Her tone is not unlike a master praising an obedient pet, and her hand moves now to cup his cheek.

"You're going to play nice now, aren't you? I'd hate to have to... punish you."

The words she speaks say one thing, but the tone in which she says them — confident and entirely sure of herself — belays the ability to back her statement up if need be.
